Finally back to being able to continue our Blog.
Calliope, a free riverside camp (only providing toilet facilities but Wow! We stayed here for 3 days even though it has a 48 hour limit. It was beautiful and inviting and worth stopping at for any traveler.
Carnavon Gorge - spectacular but no communications whatsoever.
Where do I start? A rough trip into the Gorge bouncing over flood ways, cattle grids, rough roads, dodging cows, kangaroos (not all road kill), and cow dung. Hairy to say the least but interesting also. We witnessed much wildlife such as eagles and hawks along the way but on arrival at the gorge, we were treated to spectacular views and an array of wildlife beyond comprehension. The cyacads were enormous and one would expect a dinosaur would jump out at you along the trails. Our stay at the Gorge was originally 2 days - too beautiful for that so we increased it to 4 days.
Following are a collection of photo's which we hope will describe what we were surrounded by!
