Shops closed and for lease scattered throughout the main street, a struggling country town fighting for survival, make no qualms, Winton is doing everything possible to survive 4 years of drought and hardship. Friendly, inviting and a tourist mecca encouraging visitors to sample the vast dinosaur history also attracting more visitors by hosting many festivals each and every year. Our visit here was shorter than we planned due to transformer / air conditioning problems in 40 degree dry temperatures forcing us to move on for repairs.
