One would hardly pair and inland town with a beach but surprise, surprise - we unhitched the Taj Mahal (aka our home on wheels) at a park known as McLean Beach in the very heart of Deniliquin on the banks of the Edward River. A pretty place with our hosts being very helpful and obliging with tourist information including the better places to visit, The town has 8000 residents, wide streets making it very UV friendly and a welcoming feel about it!

Many Australians are aware that this if the home of the "Ute Muster" pairing with Tamworth in it's Country Western feel and acquiring the talents of artists such as Lee Kernigan, Shannon Noll, Jimmy Barnes and Alan Jackson just to name a few who perform at the Deni Ute Muster.

A short drive around town will attract the tourist to a "Ute suspended on a pole" which from some angles can appear air born off the side of a bridge. The place is littered with pubs - one, "The Globe" short of a roof due to a recent storm and a strange union of a RSL Club and a Golf Club sharing the same premises and administration.

The wildlife, in particular bird life, are abundant with loads of squawking Corellas occurring at sunrise and seeing the day to an end at sunset. A river walk (about 1 hour duration) snakes the Edward River and on a mild weather day is very much ideal for persons of average fitness. If glamping is your style, that is catered for with tents resembling cabins in size. The family of ducks pictured below had about a dozen chicks following mamma and pappa around the park.
