Stevensons Falls in Upper Gellibrand was our first stop on the way to Apollo Bay. A meander through the American Redwood Forest on a brisk morning was an easy walk and a picturesque diversion before our touring along "The Great Ocean Road."

Onward through the long and winding road through the Otway Ranges to Apollo Bay and a lazy walk through the town. Tourists and Coaches alike inundated the tourist strip which one could be forgiven for thinking they were in Asia.

Next destination was Cape Otway Lightstation which lays claim to be Australia's most significant lighthouse. the lighthouse was constructed in 1848 using whale oil and a wick to illuminate the light. In 1939 the light and turning mechanism converted to electricity and powered by a diesel generator. Lighthouse connected to mains power in 1962.
