Ferry cross the Murray

Adventure and surprise - driving to Wellington South Australia we come close to the Murray river to find the only way to cross is on a ferry. 6 ton GVM on a ferry - not sure how that's going to work? Watching the ferry unload our fears are quashed as we see large trucks off loading - PHEW! What a relief! Pretty much a sleepy town - very windy with dust storms a plenty.

Onward to Murray Bridge, a much larger town with real shops but still plenty of wind. We had another agenda for this town though as it was an opportunity for us to catch up with friends (Vonnie and Kym) whom we had met in Townsville last year! Great time had by all!

OK, the party is over, need to do some sight seeing. Ah Oh! Turns out South Australia is a clone of Victoria. Ever changing weather, wind and dust. Time to head north we think.
Before changing direction, a drive along the old Princes Highway weaves a path to Hahndorf, a German established town from the early 1800's. Tree lined streets and block work from the skilled stone masons adorn the entire town.

Finally along the M1 to Adelaide. Whilst the city itself is similar to almost all other city centres, the approach into it is intriguing if not mesmerizing as the steep winding highway provides spectacular views of the landscape and surrounds .

Great photography on the move Deb!
